Ancient Egypt People talking about Ancient Egypt are usually referring to the dynastic period where Egypt was ruled by a King or Pharaoh. The dynastic period lasted from around 3100 BCE until 30 BCE with King Narmer being the first and the very famous Cleopatra VII. Soon after Cleopatra's death Egypt was absorbed by Rome. When I was in High School I had a fascination with the ancient Greek, Roman, and Egyptian gods and goddesses after reading the Percy Jackson novels.
